I've always found great inspiration in this piece of wisdom. As you go about your life and relationships today, decide to live by this simple code of character. It will change your attitude and bring you enormous calm in what is often a stressful and hurtful world.
"People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jeolous; be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; give the world your best anyway.
(From "The Paradoxical Commandments" by Dr. Kent Keith)
What a great platform from which to live, act and think!
Years ago God gave us some pretty amazing Commandments as well. We call them the Ten Commandments and we are currently in a study of these unchanging principles. I would love to see you worship with us this coming Sunday as we explore the 2nd of the Ten, "You Shall Not Make for Yourself an Idol." Do we create idols today? Do we knowingly or unknowingly worship them? Come join the conversation this Sunday! I look forward to seeing you!
Till next time...
