Well this is embarrassing!  In case you are using the weekly study guide I handed out this past Sunday, I think I need to explain a pretty obvious mistake!  I referenced one of the Psalms for you to read which talks about the fact that the Word of God brings "joy" to our lives when we reflect upon in.  Here is the passage I meant to include:  Psalm 19:8  "The precepts of the Lord are right,  giving joy to the heart.  The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes."
Unfortunately what I posted in the study guide was Psalm 18:8.  I'm sure you were a little confused when you read..."Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it."  I guess I will proof read my materials a little better next time!  Oh well, if you had a little laugh at my expense, that's OK.  After all, that IS what we talked about Sunday isn't it!
I hope you are being faithful to keeping the disciplines throughout the week.  As I have tried to say each Sunday, it is the disciplines of solitude, meditation, prayer, worship, etc. that God uses to bring real transformation in our lives.  I hope you are finding that to be true.  I look forward to seeing you Sunday!
