The Christmas Season is finally here!  Again people debate whether the holiday is a SACRED event or a SECULAR event.  The answer is "yes".  It is whatever you choose it to be.  I've always liked to make the distinction this way:

In a Secular Christmas, we sing about Christ's birth.  In a Sacred Christmas, Christ's birth causes us to sing!

In a Secular Christmas we consume the "spirits!"  In a Sacred Christmas, "the" Spirit consumes us!

In a Secular Christmas we purchase presents for others.  In a Sacred Christmas, we realize the Presence has already purchased us!

In a Secular Christmas, we put lights on the tree.  In a Sacred Christmas, He puts His LIGHT in me!

In a Secular Christmas, we hope to receive gifts.  In a Sacred Christmas we receive the Gift of Hope!

In a Secular Christmas, we love to sing!  In a Sacred Christmas, we sing of love!

In a Secular Christmas, we buy things we cannot afford.  In a Sacred Christmas, we are afforded things we cannot buy.

In a Secular Christmas, we send each other messages.  In a Sacred Christmas, the Message sends us into the world!

Here's hoping you have a very Merry and Sacred Christmas!
