After nearly a week and a half in the hospital, my wife Becky is finally getting to come home tomorrow (Thursday!) She actually came home onSunday, but we were back in the hospital twelve hours later. She has gotten much stronger the last few days and the doctor feels she can continue recovering just as well at home.
The surgery was successful and she will most likely feel like a brand new person in a couple of weeks. I really appreciate all the prayers and support each of you have shown both of us. It is times like this we realize how blessed we are to be part of such an amazing church family. Your gestures of love and support have meant the world to us and we are very, very appreciative.
On the 30th of this month, Becky and I will celebrate 34 years of marriage. She is still just as beautiful and precious to me today as she was when I first met her in Montgomery years ago. Over the years God has blessed us with three wonderful sons, three incredible daughter-in-laws and two amazing grandsons. We thank God for each of them everyday.
Right now I am preaching a series on "Essentials: Packing for the Journey." We are reflecting on the necessity of Faith, Hope and Love in the living of one's life. The people I have mentioned above have each, in their own way, taught me the value of the third essential, LOVE, which will be our focus this coming Sunday. I hope to see you in worship if you are in town.
Till next time...
Stuart
